Dave,

Pantera will be included in BackTrack 2.0 (schedule end of the month),
OWASP Live CD (schedule soon) and ubuntu also plans to create a package.

And yesterday I did install Pantera requirements (mysql) using ubuntu 6.10
in no time!! Synaptic Package Manager is your friend :)
